1. The last couple of weeks I have found several videos for hip hop joints from the early 90s. Some of them, I originally thought had no video for them. I was in the Navy then so we spent a great portion of our time out to see. It was a time before Satellite TV was commercially viable. So I never had the chance to see the videos of songs that I dug (like I had no clue that Urban Thermo Dynamics -- UTD, the first group Mos Def was in -- had a vid for their first video -- remember Helly Hansen's?).
Here is a nice joint I stumbled upon, Hard 2 Obtain's "L.I. Groove..." When things were simpler:
2. A rare treat. I know Capoeira folks... Here is a rare jogo de navalha (straight razor) courtesy of my squad, Grupo Unidade Capoeira (GUC)... Yes, those are razors...
BTW it's Dentista on the right and Elastico on the left...
3. My brother from another mother, Meen, b-boying in the latest joint by Roc Raida featuring Sadat X and a youthful looking Diamond D...
4. My man DJ Ill literate hit me with this. For all of you real heads who remember the Stretch and Bobbito show? Well here are some delectable treats aqui . Now you can't say I don't love you?
Again, check it.
5. I piece I wrote for Original Thought Mag....
Winter Indoorland
Many project that this upcoming winter will be very cold on top of the
fact that we are in a recession that has yet to bottom out. Many families will be forced to stay at home while indoors. Of course, for Original people this is nothing new. We always had to make due with what we had. Growing up, we did not have much but we knew how to have fun. Somehow we failed to pass this on to the next generation. We believed that if we purchase more gadgets, life would be much more
convenient. Yet Ipods, black berries, playstations, and other adult toys have made us more distant from one another. We would rather text someone while on line then have a conversation with someone standing next to us. Yet I digress.
Several of my children's friends always beg to come sleep over our house. I would be a liar if I didn't brag. We do have loads of fun.
There is no need to watch TV or use some video console. We engage our
children and make sure that the play time is also constructive. Here
are a few ideas to get you started:

I thought the razors were held in their hands. Good looking.

but in this case its called jogo de navalha... with the hands it's called uma luta (a fight) !
i kept flinching watching that clip w/the razors. man...
adult toys haven't made us more distant from one another. They are made for use alone or together, so depends of you.
Capoeira is not a fight it's a DANCE!
