What a weekend....
Man, our 4th anniversary is coming up. My wife and I have been married for four years. It has gone by so fast. Our anniversary is actually on Wednesday, Sept 15th... shameless plug: if you really want to get me something, here is my amazon.com wish list: AQUI. I mean, heck, it's best to buy something I would like then something i wouldn't huh? well i did say i was brutally honest and broke.
But 4 wonderful years. Wow.... And you know, my wife and i strive on this romantic idea of love. I know to most it's idealistic but you know what, it works for us. It allows us to not get caught up in the hodge podge of everyday life. We both understand that our lives will get better. we understand how our relationship is instrumental in the upliftment of our community. We understand that we are the foundation of a community. We make no bones about it. We are We. We are complements of one another not opposites. We complete one another. Once again, this sounds like a crock to alot of people, but we are not here to change hearts and minds just show and prove by example. It works. The problem is that people are not willing to give it a try or just get with an individual who is not on that wavelength. I can go on and on about that.
I am not saying that we holier than thou. I am not saying that our way is the best way either. It's just that it works. We base our lives on love. it's just a concept we wish most folks would try. Don't marry for looks, or money, or convenience. Do it for love. BUt please think things through.
Bottom line:
Love prevails overall.
we are poor but rich in friends, resources, family, events, good times, memories, youth, laughter, intelligence, spirituality, fun, and a mob of other things.

Man, i have many friends who are overseas. Today a good friend of the family, Big Padawan (it's a female folks) , called us three way by the way of our landlord. At first, i thought she was locked up cause it seems like they are the only people who call on 3 way these days. SHe called from Iceland. She is good peoples. We miss her.
we also have a friend, Natabar, who is in Korea teaching folks english. She started a blog but of course did not leave me the link (see i told you all to leave and check out the comments, some cool folks on there). I am trying to convince her to write a book (i know, i know Afeni...)about her experience. Soon as i get her blog address, you will all get it. SHe is one of those funny folks who are not trying to be funny but are funny anyway. We miss that "humor."
Also, my brother Muidinho who is in Iraq. We got you man, i need to send him a letter i just wrote him tomorrow. Trying to keep that correspondence going. Then of course, there is the always single Cabacador... if any of you sisters want to write him, let me know. He is in Cameroon holding it down for the Peace Corps.
I have a few others, who at this moment I can't think of... But i will come back to this...
